American actor Zac Efron has admitted that he went to a strip club with two of his friends.

The New York post reported that Zac and his two friends, including High School Musical co-star Corbin Bleu, went to the Flashdancers Gentlemen's Club in New York where they spent 2,000 dollars on lap dancers and vodka.

However, Efron denied spending big money.

"I'm not really a type of guy who does this kind of thing often," he said.

"I had this image of what it'd be like. I've heard a lot about these places, mostly from rap music.

They're supposed to be pretty reputable! So I envisioned myself in a nice couch with 'stunna shades' with T-Pain and Usher making it rain money. And it just wasn't like that," he added.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Efron also said that he made sure he got girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens' permission before he went, reports Usmagazine.com.

"The hardest thing was calling your girlfriend before. How do you even start that conversation without feeling like a total a**hole," Zac said.

"She was fine with it," he added. (ANI)
